Yet another reason why I love my husband.

Because he told me my stretch marks look cool. Like they are the flames painted on the side of a car or van or something!

Pimp my belly!

Wednesday

I've been messing about with my template. I wanted something new, not sure yet, it is not exactly how I want it but I think that it will grow on me. I am possibly thinking of a new title too, something that will be a bit more relevant to me now but I have not come up with anything yet. Let me know what you think so far anyway.

Very tired so I am working from home for two days before my last day at work on Friday. Scary stuff. Have discovered a new way to pass the time when up in the middle of the night though. Have been trying to capture Squigler making my belly move on camera! Only one kick so far but if I manage to get anything good I may even post it here.

Just been looking at photos on Facebook for something and got all misty eyed at my wedding pics. So, for no reason other than the fact I want to here is the one that got me!!! It is not even a good picture and is out of focus but how happy do we look? I am so very blessed.

Ohh Shiny Award!

Well blow me down with a feather! The lovely Mrs over at OMG We're Pregnant has only gone and given my little old blog an award. How lovely.

Now the rules to this award are:

1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.
2. Pass the award to 10 other blogs that you've newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

So part 1 has now been done. Part 2 is a bit more difficult! Mainly because I am just getting into the swing of writing again, and have not yet managed to start reading blogs too! I need time to do that and after looking at a computer all day at work I am not really up to more than reading Twitter and my emails.

So I plan on writing a list of blogs as I discover them over the next few weeks. I am sure that no one will mind ;o)

So I have just also noticed that along with the rules above there is a chance to list your five pet hates......hmmm let me think.

1. Text speak. I am afraid that I use proper English in my texts with correct punctuation and everything. I cannot stand all of this: C U L8R rubbish. Oh and people that text all in capitals. why the hell are you shouting at me?

Okay, that is only one but I have a bit of a headache and I am not feeling too inspired at the moment. Will add to these as well!

Antenatal classes

All we get from the NHS these days to prepare for labour, birth and breastfeeding is a DVD and a three hour class.

I got the letter through today for ours. It is on the 24th June (a little late? I will be 37 weeks then?) and I am still chuckling about this sentence in the letter:

"Please bring along a doll or teddy and with a small sheet or blanket for the feeding session"

All I have are Rabbit or Monkey (see previous post) which would be best?

Squigler's things

Thank you Grandma!

Marvelous Mum made the most beautiful quilt for Squigler's crib. It is patchwork on one side and the green button material on the back. It even has hearts sewn through the layers. She made it before we knew the sex of the baby but I don't think it is too girlie.

The rabbit came from her as well and were Squigler's first gifts. I will admit to putting the rabbit in a pramsuit that I have bought and then into the Baby Bjorn carrier to test it all out!!!

My favourite purchases

Most of what I have bought so far is very practical. However, these two things are my favourite so far. The Monkey I have been looking at in a shop window for weeks and finally talked myself into it yesterday. I had been looking for a blanket bringing Squigler home from the hospital and everything else for weeks but I hadn't seen anything that I wanted until this one caught my eye when shopping in Brighton a couple of weeks ago. It was from Jojo Maman Bebe and I love the bright colours.

Today

Yay. Day off.

Slightly annoyed because I had to wake up at 7am because we were expecting a delivery anytime between 7am and 6pm and Mr C decided he would go to work early. Grr. Still, Dad and Stepmum arrive this evening for the bank holiday weekend so I have plenty to do!

Well it is now 11 and I have done 2 loads of washing, started cooking a gammon joint, cleaned teh kitchen, tidied their bedroom, had breakfast, spent money online and got my delivery. I have also danced around the kitchen like a loon to Walk like a Egyptian too but that didn't take long.

So now I have to decide what to do with the rest of my day. The bathroom, my bedroom and the living room need tidying and cleaning and I need to finsh the ham and make soup for tonight's dinner and a cake. But first I will walk to the post box, post Lovely Lady's birthday card and get some fresh air.

Might post some recipe's later if the food turns out well too.

Ow, ow, 31 weeks today, ow ow ow

I have woken up with toothache. not good. I have the pathological fear of the dentist plus being pregnant means no xrays and stuff so how will they know what is wrong? Didn't want to take painkillers but had to have some paracetamol after a couple hours because like OW.

Been planning a nice blog post for the past few days but think that it will have to wait until I feel better. Just online because we have ordered the furniture for the nursery from Ikea today. Will finally have somewhere to put all of the things I have bought. The bed in our spare room has what I now call "baby mountain" on it - everything we have for the baby. One problem with that is my Dad and Stepmum are coming to stay next weekend and I need that room for them so we will have to get on with clearing up this week.

31 weeks, only 9 to go. I am desperate to meet Squigler but there is a lot to get ready still. Still bouncing between excitement and panic at the moment.

Right, going to demand TLC and cups of tea from Mr C now ;o)

Why I miss blogging

Because I spend productive time making like this for my blog! Wanna try?

30 weeks, the photographic evidence.

Please ignore extra chins. Nice shot of Blackadder on the TV in the background!

Mother's Day

I always read Postsecret every week, and this week was really interesting because they were all about Mums.

This one made me cry (pregnancy hormones anyone?) because although I cannot bear to think about this ever happening, I know that I have met and married that man.

I am so very lucky, and I try to remind myself of that every day. Occasionally I tell him too! ;o)

It is neat.

30 weeks

Crazy, can you believe it? I have a picture to add to this post but I am on my ipod tonight so I will do it later. I am getting pretty excited now, it is an odd feeling, some days I feel that I have been pregnant for ever, others it seems to be going past so fast.

This has been a nice weekend, just Mr C and I doing bits and pieces around the house. Oh and I bought a second hand car so Squigler and I have wheels. We cleared what was the office, that will be the baby's room. How can two people have so much stuff?? Next job is to paint it.

Dippy pregnant moment of the weekend, I put the Sky remote through the washing machine, and almost put it in the dryer!!!

Dignity

Reaching down to take my socks off has become increasingly difficult. Just realized that I seem to have subconciously perfected a shuffle backwards sliding socks down then flicking my foot up to grab the sock move. Classy.

Mr C finds the whole thing hysterical.
